Tony Glading set up Professional Cleaners UK after working in the cleaning industry since the age of 17.
Tony always had an eye for cleaning, taking pride and care in his work, pleasing thousands of clients over the years with his high standards, attention to detail and friendly personality. This is something he instils and requires from all of the professional cleaning teams and cleaners employed at Professional Cleaners UK.
Tony started out in a family-run cleaning business in Surrey. For the first couple of years he was part of the cleaning team on a daily basis; carrying out both regular and one-off cleaning jobs in homes, offices, blocks of flats, bars and schools.
Even though Tony now runs his own company and manages the cleaners and business side of things, he is still not afraid to do any work himself and regularly attends the properties to inspect them and make sure the work is carried out to high levels!
Having worked as a cleaner initially, Tony believes that this insight and first-hand experience gives him a true understanding of the work and also allows him to deliver what customers are looking for time after time.
With Tony’s assistance and sheer hard work, the family company went from strength to strength, expanding its client base and the number of cleaners to cover London, Surrey and indeed the whole of Southern England.
By the age of 21 Tony was managing an ever-expanding cleaning division; managing large teams of cleaners, representing the company for meetings and at AGMs, as well as looking after clients from small home cleans through to major communal and contract cleaning work.
His responsibilities were to not only maintain the current standards of existing contracts but also to promote the company, expand and win new contracts, which he did.
Tony continued to arrange the day to day running, ensured close relationships with all the companies and organisations that they cleaned for, arranged rotas and employed team managers to assist him in ensuring that high standards were kept at all times.
After seven years working in the family business, Tony was headhunted by a leading joint property management and cleaning company in London, offering him progression and a step into other angles of the industry. Although it was a difficult decision to make, it seemed a natural fit and opportunity for Tony to expand his experience in the industry and so he moved.
Tony took the jump and a step down in title to Property Manager and Cleaning Manager Assistant. However, with his ever-positive outlook on life and intention to grow, learn and broaden his knowledge he took the plunge!
Tony was ambitious and keen to make an impact in what was a new working environment and he managed many developments; both residential and commercial cleaning. He implemented fresh ideas and new ways for the company to progress and grow; building trustworthy relationships with current clients in the property management sector and in particular he shook up the cleaning division with a complete overhaul on how it was running.
It took Tony a little under a year before his new Directors realised what an asset to their company Tony was and he was promoted to Head of Property Management and Managing Director of the cleaning company.
Over the next two years, the Property Management division grew by 200%, expanding and building a trustworthy and reliable reputation. Business-minded Tony also secured works and offered the cleaning service from their sister company which more often than not was accepted, offering an in-house service for all clients.
Regular site inspections took place with Tony assessing all property management requirements plus ensuring cleaning services were carried out effectively.
After three successful years, Tony felt it was time to move on and pursue his own entrepreneurial career. Having worked himself up from being a cleaner with his family company through to managing major cleaning contracts he felt he had the skills, knowledge, drive and contacts to succeed.
And this is where we find ourselves today!
At the beginning of 2018, Tony launched Professional Cleaners UK which has rapidly grown and seen happy customers and clients since the very first day. The company offers a full range of cleaning options; looking after domestic cleans, communal cleans, end of tenancy, deep cleaning and more.
With his experience Tony's aims and ethos was and remains very simple:
Tony believes it is his personal experience and love for the job that sets Professional Cleaners UK apart from the other top cleaning companies.
Tony’s trustworthy and likeable personality has allowed him to grow Professional Cleaners UK at a fast, yet controllable speed, to ensure a quality service is provided time after time.
Initially, Professional Cleaners UK just covered London and the South East of England but demand has grown so much that the company now offers cleaning nationally; with cleaning teams in Northern Ireland, Scotland, Wales and the whole of England.
Tony has ensured area managers are in place throughout the country, completing site inspections and working to Tony’s reputable high standards - plus he still does his own on-site visits every week!
Tony tries to personally get back to every enquiry that comes through the website because he believes that it doesn't matter if you are looking for a small home clean or a major business looking after daily cleans, all customers should be treated the same way!
1. Why did you set up Professional Cleaners UK?
I have worked in the cleaning industry for many years, initially working as a cleaner for my nan's company and latterly as a Cleaning and Property Manager for a major London based company.
It has been a dream of mine to have my own cleaning business and provide the best possible cleaning services nationwide. With that as my aim, I set up Professional Cleaners UK with a small team of cleaners, a handful of leaflets and lots of determination!
It has since grown and grown with great word of mouth, recommendations and exciting new clients.
I hope one day to achieve a status as a recognised household name, becoming a cleaning company that people can rely on and trust for any cleaning job, no matter how big or small.
2. What do you think makes Professional Cleaners UK different from other top cleaning companies?
Having worked as a cleaner myself, I believe I have the personal knowledge and understanding of the actual job, which is very important. I wouldn't ask any of my fantastic cleaners to do anything that I haven't or wouldn't do! Believe me, I have cleaned just about anything and everything!
I believe that this mentality and the sense of teamwork I try to instil in my teams is what makes Professional Cleaners UK the best cleaning company - whether it is for home cleans, office cleans or school cleans.
I am also around to speak to all my cleaning staff, area managers and clients over the phone, to make sure everyone is happy. It may sound sad but I absolutely love my job. Basically, I care for every job we do and always aim for complete client satisfaction.
3. What is your experience in the cleaning industry?
Wow, it’s been 14 years now!
As I mentioned I started as a cleaner myself in my nan's company, initially working evenings and weekends to earn more money. I then moved into the job full time, eventually moving into a business managerial role which I really enjoyed.
A few years later I then moved into property management with a London based company, whilst there I also set up a sister cleaning company.
With over a decade of experience across all roles I now have many colleagues and friends in the industry, whether it be landlords, property managers, letting agents, schools, councils or construction companies. Having key relationships and trust in place is paramount. My clients trust me and know I always strive to do an amazing job.
4. What qualities do you look for in a cleaner?
Firstly, the cleaner needs to take pride in their work and attention to detail is key.
I ensure all my staff are trustworthy, friendly and hard-working. With those things and correct training and products, you can't go wrong!
If you are interested in cleaning with us drop me a message and I will send more information.
5. What are your aims and ambitions for the company?
I hope to continue growing and expanding nationwide as we are now.
It would be great to be known as a reputable reliable company across the country. That is my aim and something I have always wanted to do since I started cleaning myself.
6. What gives you satisfaction in your work?
Positive feedback!
Nothing beats hearing those happy customers who are just so pleased with the service we provide. I then know I’m doing my job properly!
7. What happens when you get an enquiry?
The enquiries immediately come through to our office and are read right away. I personally try to read every single one.
Each area manager across the country will then make contact if the enquiry is in their area, to discuss the job in hand and perhaps arrange a site visit to quote the job up.
Either way, we act quickly and professionally.
8. Describe Professional Cleaners UK in three words?
Second to none!
Or
Trustworthy, friendly and professional! Is that three? Haha.
9. How do you like to unwind?
Usually, I like to unwind by socialising with friends, dinners & cinema trips.
I am also a keen tennis player. I have played from a young age so it’s nice to step onto the court when I can! I am an LTA Level 3 tennis coach, maybe I should throw in a free tennis lesson with some cleans? Haha.
10. Tell us your top cleaning tip!
I would say, use a multi-tasking product!
Instead of buying numerous products for different surfaces use one that can clean all. For example, a surface and glass cleaner or a floor cleaner which is suitable for both wooden and tiled floors. People buy so many products these days - but when you look at what is in them, it's all the same! Just different colours or branding.
This will save you both time and money.
